How Comps Work
Getting started with ESFA is easy. Follow these steps to enter your first competition.
Create Your Account
Sign up with your email or Google account. Complete your profile with a display name and photo so other anglers can find and follow you.
Browse Competitions
Head to the Competitions page to see all active and upcoming events. Each competition has its own rules, target species, prize pool, and timeframe.
Purchase Your Entry Ticket
Found a competition you like? Purchase an entry ticket through our secure checkout. Your ticket will be automatically activated once payment is confirmed.
Go Fishing!
Head out to your favourite fishing spot during the competition period. When you land a qualifying catch, take a clear photo showing the full fish with a measuring device if possible.
Submit Your Entry
Open the ESFA app, tap the + button, and select "Competition Fish Entry". Upload your photo and our AI will automatically identify the species and estimate measurements.
Track the Leaderboard
Once verified, your entry appears on the competition leaderboard. Watch the rankings update in real-time as other anglers submit their catches. The top entries win prizes!
Tips for Better Entries
- Take photos in good lighting with the full fish clearly visible
- Include a measuring tape or ruler next to the fish for accurate measurements
- Submit entries as soon as possible after catching for the best verification results
- Enable location services for automatic GPS tagging of your entries
